My Emotional Well-Being

My Emotional Well-Being

Has it been bonkers for you lately? I can relate and I have been a bit off grasping onto the positive outcomes from all what we’re going through these days. For my own well-being, I need to keep my mind busy. With the challenges that had been thrown at me, I’ve learned to adapt pretty well and proud of myself to stay true to myself.

My truth is I need to stay busy working.  It's hard when you're laid-off, right?

Well, I’ve learned that I can stay busy learning new skills and taking action on them creating something I’ve never done before.  I’ve learned that I love learning and will keep inquiring and being curious about life.  I’ve also learned to keep myself busy by working towards a cause or goal.  That being, working on learning all I can to be, my goal, a self-sufficient business person that will have a successful business run on it’s own while I live an abundance secured life with my loved ones.

There’s so much for me to learn and get under my belt, and I continue to learn more about being a successful entrepreneur while I’m new at it. I’m pretty much building my experience with new skills and following through the actions as what a business person would do in my trade, but the caveat of that is in my pocketbook, I’m not getting the salary I use to get while working at my corporate job. Basically the work I’ve been doing since I’ve gotten laid off has been volunteer, pro bono work.

I know that ‘pro bono’ work is not viable and sustainable, but I think it’s essential when you are a new entrepreneur so that you can assess what your business strengths are and what you need to focus on when you are truly in business. Especially at these trying times for other entrepreneurs that need my expert help.  I am giving them a break to help them pivot their business to get back onto a sustainable path.  I feel what I give to them is going to come back 100x fold.  I believe it!

I found out that I love helping people. That is my top mission and core values is having quality customer service helping people that seek my help and expertise. It gives me extreme joy to solve a problem for people that are truly grateful to my services. I know when I officially open my business next year that I will have return clients, plus their referrals because of my quality customer service I provide.

All that I do positively does take practice. I’ve learned to use emotional well-being tools and meditations to help me get through a trying moment or day. It’s a gift that I can collaborate with someone else that I truly admire their work as well. That is why I am here sharing my gift to you as well.

My gift, I have been a client and friend to Nancy Wunderlich for over 10 years.  I met her in Boulder, Colorado when I lived there struggling through the 2008 recession, a divorce, lost my homes, and tough times.  Her expertise services of counseling helped me with my physical anxiety problems I had where I would start hyperventilate creating me to blackout.  I’ve learned to calm my mind and have positive imagery with positive affirmation.  All this doing soul-centered breathwork with her that helped me tremendous.  I can say today, after 10 years that I am not using any anti-anxiety pills anymore, nor have I had any physical anxiety attacks thanks to the work of Nancy and her tools she has taught me.  This is true to the big unknown we had recently, I was able to stay calm and work through life keeping myself busy focusing on a positive outcome.

It works everyone.  I just want you to know, if you need that additional wellness check, I recommend seeking out Nancy Wunderlich.  She has wonderful free video on YouTube, her YouTube is “Emotional Well-Being” https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC9w6p1mjdDNN2zoECNnVhDw You can find Nancy’s Facebook business page with free tools to help you feel better sooner @ https://www.facebook.com/helpingyoufeelbetter/  Also, Nancy has a free public facebook group @ https://www.facebook.com/groups/E.Wellbeing/

Take care everyone!

Missing My Family These Days While Social Distancing

tanghal family

What can I say, these days I miss my family and especially my mom and dad.  I communicate with them as much as I can by calling them or writing them a letter.  I let my mom talk to me on the phone.  She is hard of hearing so she can’t hear me when I speak to her on the phone.  Same with my dad.  When we talk on the phone, I let him talk because he can’t hear me on the phone.  I text or call my siblings and we checked-in with each other the last week.  It’s important to do that.

I received a call from dad today and he says he realized after catching up with the news that I have had the coronavirus.  He concluded that with the news and all the letters I’ve been sending him while I was sick listing the symptoms and how I was feeling.  I’m not saying I have been validated or tested which I had not, but I was ill with the symptoms over a month ago.  It was a harsh flu for me which had me indoors for several weeks.  I even had the flu shot which makes it even more unexplainable why I got sick.  (The past 5 years for work when I get the flu shot I don’t get the flu. If I don’t get the flu shot, then I get the flu.)  So this flu laid me out with a fever at the beginning, fatigued, weak and aching, depressed, sinus migraine headache, asthma irritation, congestion in my sinuses and throat, and nausea.  I wrote to them about it and blogged about the symptoms back in January.

Here in Seattle, the coronavirus has been circulating in our community early January where we had no clue what it was back then and people complaining about the ‘crud’ that wouldn’t go away.  Today the news is catching up for everyone around the world how serious and fast this virus spreads.  I will have to say I started feeling sick around January 14th and got better by January 31st where that weekend is when I had started to go outdoors feeling a bit better than I had the last few weeks.

I told my dad that today I have no fever and not feeling sick. Just the normal allergies symptoms that has my sinuses flared up and hyper sensitive about irritating smells.  I have no problem staying indoors as well keeping myself busy doing what I can to keep my skills up to date and studying many great new things to get my business established.  When the sun is out I like to get out and ride my bike around my park and down to the beach to get fresh air.

My dad wanted to make sure I stay in and stock up with supplies.  I said we are fine, we are thankful that our nearby stores have what we need and we buy what we need on a weekly basis.  We don’t have space to stockpile nor is it economically feasible for us to buy more than what we need.

So it’s just hard to hear my dad tell me he is just calling because he is finally catching up with the news and is concerned for me.  It’s also hard to hear my mom asking when I’m visiting with them in California.  It’s hard to say right now and I try to tell her it’s not safe for me to travel now for one thing in case I might be a carrier of the virus coming from the locale I’m sitting in Seattle.  I don’t want to infect no one.  Also, I don’t think it’s healthy for me to travel now for myself.  Governor Inslee is pretty much telling us to assume we all are infected and we need to act accordingly.  Practice social distancing.  My family live over 800 miles away from me.  I miss them dearly.  I write to them often and it’s what helps them to connect with me vice versa and for me to unload what’s on my mind in a thoughtful way.

Social Distancing Works For Me and My Pup

Social Distancing with a Fierce Pup

Having a trusted companion when I go out keeps everything in check with “social distancing” here in Seattle. My tough pup keeps everyone away!

What is social distancing?
Select link to local Seattle news website King 5 to get the details:

I ride my eBike around my town in West Seattle and down to the beach at Lincoln Park to get fresh air and exercise.  I’ve been packing up my 30 pound pup with me at the back of the bike in a basket.  She loves it too!  A lot of people that see us smile and point out how adorable she is, “a puppy on a bike in a basket”.  I would have to agree with that! She’s super cute!

Although that cute dog gives growling warnings to strangers to back away if they get too close or reach out to pet her.  So for the most part, I stay a good distance (6 feet away or more)  from others when I bike.  I smile and nod to people and pedal on by going about my ride.

anxious cautions full of energy mini aussie

I’ve been doing different methods to train my pup to be more acceptable to strangers, but she’s not having it.  It’s in her breed as an Australian Shepherd, they are known to be anxious, cautious, and with lots of energy.  Aussies need to be busy at work protecting the herd and spend time running.  So I try my best to not get her in situations where there’s a lot of crowds and especially with unattended toddlers that may want to grab or pet her cuteness.

So bringing it back to current circumstances in Seattle, I am doing “social distancing” and taking personal responsibility to help slow down the coronavirus from spreading. I have a fierce helper with my Red Tri Aussie that keeps everyone in check.

My experiences with 528Hz music

I had a dilemma to resolve this morning about pursuing the best path for me to proceed into getting more training for my entrepreneurship new venture.  Now that I’ve eagerly announced that I am working on being a small business, there’s  so many entities that want to give me their solution to becoming the best business owner and join them now to receive premium training.  I agree I can use all the training and resources out there to help me grow my business.  Everyone has great solutions that can sure help me, but I have to discern with the limited amount of funds, which will be my money spent wisely.  I have to be very careful what I spend on.

So, I became overwhelmed after receiving an email that was indicating I may not be eligible for funding that I was led to think I would get signing up after attending a workshop.  The basis of the ineligibility was on my past job title and the demand category that was set on it.  You see, my last job title at a corporate company is not a high demand role and is a specific niche. It’s very limited in my nearby region. However, I was categorized as something else that is in high demand and I’m not quite qualified because I have legacy programming skills, and lack the state-of-the-art programming skills used today. I was about to reply an unpleasant email response back how the information they categorized me is incorrect, but I refrained myself.  Luckily I had a scheduled morning call with my life coach Nancy Wunderlich. She helped me talk through the issue then we made an action plan.

Nancy suggested to listen to the 528Hz music with Gregorian chant that she had recommended to me a few weeks ago.

I forgot about it and remembered it did help me on a day that mysteriously made me feel better after being sick and depressed for over four weeks.  That is why I’m re-posting my original blog about it and the full experience I had with it.

What you Manifest is Real – Keep it Positive!

So with the action plan that Nancy and I came up with, I had set myself to listen to the 528Hz music with Gregorian chant while meditating to recenter myself.  Then after that come back to the writing with a clear mind.  So that was my intention was to take deep breaths and relax. During my mediation while sitting comfortable on my recliner and my eyes closed, I had vivid imagery that was in a dream state.

In my dream, I remember walking on a beach in the shallow shore and a snake came swimming towards me from the distance.

I then had a branch with olive leaves waving it at the snake.  The snake got in front of me and went under, but I waved the branch and stopped it from getting me.  The snake was slithering on my branch coiling it and hissing in front of my face.  Then I flung it off my branch and it disappeared.

Then I continued walking off the beach into the jungle leading to a mountain temple.  The temple was made out of clay.

It was majestic in the daylight with beautiful tropical flowers on vines, flickering candles set everywhere, and lit torches.

I went inside the temple and found faceless monks wearing robes praying, walking slow, and chanting.  I felt my body was tingling and reverberating to the chant they were singing.

In this dream state I was surrounded by the faceless monks that were soothing to me and I was able to stay among them relaxed and peaceful.  I felt protected and supported.

Then I woke up. I looked at the clock and it was 11:11am.  I then got myself ready to write my email response back.  I was able to be clear and concise to what I needed.  I felt great about what I wrote and pressed “Send”.  After a few minutes, I received the response back from the gentleman I had addressed it to that thanked me for the reply and gave me great news that I needed.

He gave me excellent news that he has a limited amount of funds which his limit was amply suffice to the training I wanted to get in Multimedia Arts Certification that is 15 months long.

This program will give me training in all the Adobe applications that I have started novice learning on my own three months ago and used for my freelance pro bono work with friends.  They are Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Dreamweaver. All the apps that will propel my business in a professional video content creator and web designer.

You see, I don’t know how the 528Hz music helped, but I wholeheartedly believe it did and positively shifted my attitude.  I was much calmer and focused to relax my mind and ask the universe for clarity.  I am so thankful to have gotten the answers I needed while meditating.  It’s true manifestation when your heart is in it and the answers come to you.

I have many distractions that are getting in the way to what I really want.  In my dream the distractions are represented by the snake. With me warding the snake off with an olive branch, I believe signifies my inner strength of peace in my life.  I got this! Then there is the clay temple.  That represents the suite of Adobe products I have adopted to be the fuel to my business that will perfect my skills in them.

So much symbolism in my dream that has me in great surprise.  Also, the fact I woke up to the dot of 11:11am.  That is spiritual significant number indeed.  I am just openly thankful.

I don’t know what all the significance mean, but I do know I experienced something magical once again that came within.  See my re-post blog on the first amazing experience.

I am curious if others have had experiences like this with listening to music while meditating?  I am interested in learning more about the 528Hz music through my own reading and by Nancy.  It’s just truly wonderful and something I highly recommend to have a listen.

Today I applied for an official business license and trade names

For now I’m operating as a freelancer and looking for a full-time job in the nearby Seattle area.  I have a few excellent opportunities and I’m waiting patiently for the right one to present itself to me.  Meanwhile, freelance work and sharpening my skills and networking are great!

Today I’ve proceeded in making tiny steps to making a dream a reality and applied for an official business license and trade name(s).  It was easy for me to do this once I found the right resources.  There are so many information out there to get a business started, if you’re not persistent and focused to find the answers needed, it can be overwhelming.  I obviously wanted to do this on my own to learn and understand the process.  I didn’t want to pay for someone else to do it for me, so I took my time not rushing into it learning about the process to setup a business.  It’s been since November 2019 when I was seriously looking into the entrepreneur path.

So here are the steps I took:

  1. In the city of Seattle and county of King, I went to the website of the Department of Revenue Washington State –> https://dor.wa.gov/open-business/apply-business-license
  2. Played with the wizard –> Start a scenario using the Business Licensing Wizard. You will have the option to Apply Now using our secure online system, or expand the By Mail to download and complete all the forms listed.
  3. Before I can complete my application, I got an EIN, a federal employer identification number so that I can use that to open up a business account.  I want to do this right by keeping my records for business under one account and keep my personal account separate.  I will use accounting principles to use my personal to fund my business which I’m doing at startup.
  4. Then upon completion of my business application it asks for any EIN and the UBI number.  The UBI is the unified business identifier.
  5. In addition to completing the business application, you’re asked about DBA – doing business as or tradename(s).  For me I have the website redtriaussie.com setup and will market myself with several identifiers to give growth into what I want to do.  So I have tradenames within the state of Washington.  Later, while planning for growth,  I’ll get a trademark copyright with the Federal Secretary of State to cover United States, but for now these names are owned by me in my region:
    1. Red Tri Aussie
    2. Red Tri Aussie Productions
    3. Red Tri Aussie Creations
    4. Red Tri Aussie Designs
    5. Red Tri Aussie Studios

All this cost me $44 bucks 🙂
